Color Field Panels

The Color Field wall panels are abstract compositions of blocks of color, muted by the subtle carving away of the glass surface. Layers of glass are fused together and then carved away, assembled into series of panels where a sweeping pattern is created by the movement from one panel to the next. This series began early on as a study of the work of Ellsworth Kelly and other New York school painters, but as I began to carve my own impressions into the pieces they began to take on an organic feel that felt uniquely tied to my blown work. Although abstract compositions, nonetheless these panels are very connotative, at times of landscape and environment, at others the human profile.
